Jungfrau Visited

While the sun shines
Make hay,
I knew forever
Not the real way

Fields of green
Turn shades of brown,
As the farmers
Mow them down

Pied beauty
Of lucid purity,
For miles around
Defying serendipity

Eiger, Monch, Jungfrau,
Thun and Brienz
Zenith to nadir
The splendid stance

The maker, the painter
Forgot not a nook,
By the green fields
Runs a clear brook

And in a haze of clouds
Cow bells ring,
Get closer to see
How their heads they swing

While in the church
The bells toll
The brook sings
"Men may come, and men may go - But I go on forever"
As the waters roll

- Mallika
(Composed on the flight back home today)

"Men may come, and men may go - But I go on forever" ....from The Brook by Lord Tennyson
